This box displays a simple yet harmonious design, with the central rectangle filled with three large lotus flowers surrounded by foliage. The central lotus blosom hods up a flaming jewel which represents the dharma, or Buddhist doctrine. There are golden-coloured scrolls in the corners and the border completes the composition with a repetative pattern of jewels in a swirling flower design. Painted on wood.
