This type of cabinet is known as a yangam in Tibetan, and it was used for storing wealth vases. These vases would be blessed once a year in a ceremony by a lama. They would then be stored in the yangam, next to the altar, in order to bring wealth and happiness to the household. Garlands of jewels hang down from the top of the two doors, then an array of auspicious symbols decorate the entire surface of the doors. There is a mongoose that vomits jewels, a unicorn's horn, the Eight Auspicious Symbols: The Parasol, The Golden Fishes, The Treaure Vase, The Lotus, the Conch Shell, The Endless Knot, The Victory Banner, The Wheel and also The Seven Gems: the Uicorn, the Elephant's Tusks, the King's Earring, The Queen's Earring, the Crossed Gems, the Three-eyed Gem, and the Eight-branched Coral.
