The proportions and use of palette make this a striking cabinet. The background colour is rag dul, a brass powder, known in the West as "Dutch gold". The orange, blue and pick flowers and the green leaves create a bold contrast with the gold. The frame is decorated with a continuous, geometric border design, also popular on Tibetan carpets. The lower apron is decorated with a parrot perched on a flowering branch.
