This type of cabinet is know as a torgam, in Tibetan, and was used to store the ritual offering cakes made of tsampa. On the left door, on a red cinnabar background, is a wrathful face of a protector deity, with a third eye, flaring nostrils, fangs and eyebrows of fire. He is adorned with earrings and a crown of skulls. Below the wrathful face are offerings of the senses, including a tongue, eyes and nose inside a skull cup, held up by three skulls. On the right door are peaceful offerings in the form of the Eight Auspicious Symbols.
