This human face mask is so expressive that it almost looks like a real person. While the eyes and mouth are just carved out holes, the nose is carfully carved. The whole face is given a vigorous expression by the use of the movement of the wood. This mask is most probably Magar from the Middle Hills around Pokhara.
It has a brown patina with traces of white clay and red paint.
