This splendid human mask from the Rai ethnic community in Eastern Nepal, has holes for eyes, a distorted mouth with carved teeth, a prominent nose and ears that encroach on the face. The lines carved into the mask give it character around the mouth and indicate the Hindu influence as the ones on the forehead reseamble those made by follows of Shiva at the ceremonies.
