This female figure would have been placed on the roof of a house to protect those living inside, or on a bridge to protect those crossing. The hands joined together in front of the heart and the closed eyes indicate that the figure is praying. Long hair trails down the back and there is a crown on the head. Unfortunately the legs have been cut to aid transportation from the village in Western Nepal to Kathmandu. All over the figure, thin cracks in the wood show the effects weathering.
