OBJECT 11: Code BC4 Central Tibet, 13-14th Century 77x32 cm click image for detail

		Polychrome, gilded and carved Tibetan manuscript cover. In the central rectangular panel is a diamond pattern in red, yellow and green polychrome against a ground of gilded foliate arabesque. On the outer border is a frieze of scrolling foliate vine, with a peacock at the center on one side and a Makara, a sea monster, on the opposite side.
