This style of carpet that takes its inspiration from Chinese brocade, with the stylised lotus flowers, is known as chen den in Tibetan. It was a very popular design with or without borders. The yellow colour is made from rhubarb, the blue from indigo and the red from madder. Good thick pile. Very good condition. Wool warp and weft. |
